Compliance with E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022
Under the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 have been notified, replacing the previous 2016 framework.
In strict adherence to these latest regulations, ONICSTECH INDUSTRIES operates under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework. This means we take full responsibility for the collection, channelization, and environmentally sound recycling of our electronic products once they become e-waste.
What is E-Waste?
“E-Waste” refers to any electrical or electronic equipment, including its components, consumables, parts, and spares, that has been discarded as waste by the consumer or bulk consumer. If not handled properly, the hazardous materials inside electronics (like lead, mercury, and cadmium) can cause severe damage to the environment and human health.
How to Dispose of Your E-Waste with Us
We have made it simple and safe for our customers to recycle their old ONICSTECH INDUSTRIES products. Please follow these steps to ensure your e-waste is processed responsibly:
1. Initiate a Return: Contact our dedicated E-Waste customer support team via phone or email to log an e-waste return request.
2. Pack Safely: Box up your end-of-life electronic devices securely. Ensure that batteries are not leaking and glass components are padded.
3. Drop-off or Pickup: Depending on your location, we will either arrange a free courier pickup from your premises or direct you to our nearest authorized e-waste collection center.
4. Responsible Recycling: Your product will be handed over to our CPCB-authorized recycling partners, ensuring zero electronic waste ends up in a landfill.
E-Waste Disposal: Do’s and Don’ts
To ensure the safety of our communities and the environment, please adhere to the following guidelines:
The Do’s:
1. Always drop off your used electronic products, defective components, or accessories at our authorized collection centers.
2. Always keep e-waste in an isolated area after it becomes non-functional or unrepairable to prevent accidental breakage.
3. Always ensure that your electronics are handled only by an Authorized Recycler.
The Don’ts:
1. Never dismantle your electronic products yourself.
2. Never dispose of e-waste in regular household garbage bins or municipal solid waste streams.
3. Never sell or give your e-waste to informal, unorganized, or unregistered scrap dealers (Kabadiwalas).
4. Never keep loose or damaged batteries near flammable materials.
